It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, but what is more painful is to love someone and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel.
A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you, only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be and you just have to let go.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it only takes a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.
Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you want to be; because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to.
Always put yourself in the other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person too.
A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.
The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.
When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live life so that when you die... you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
Does Heaven have a phone number?
Mommy went to Heaven,
but I need her here today,
My tummy hurts and I fell down,
I need her right away,
Operator can you tell me how
to find her in this book?
Is heaven in the yellow part,
I don't know where to look.
I think my daddy needs her too,
at night I hear him cry.
I hear him call her name sometimes,
but I really don't know why.
Maybe if I call her,
she will hurry home to me.
Is Heaven very far away,
Is it across the sea?
She's been gone a long, long time
she needs to come home now!
I really need to reach her,
I simply don't know how.
Help me find the number please,
is it listed under "Heaven"?
I can't read these big big words,
I am only seven.
I'm sorry operator,
I didn't mean to make you cry,
Is your tummy hurting too,
or is there something in your eye?
If I call my church maybe they will know.
Mommy said when we need help that's where we should go.
I found the number to my church
tacked up on the wall.
Thank you operator,
I'll give them a call.
No man/woman is worth your tears and the only one who is, will never make you cry.
If you love someone, put their name in a circle, instead of a heart, because hearts can break, but circles go on forever.
Everyone hears what you say. Friends listen to what you say. Best friends listen to what you don't say.
If all my friends were to jump off a bridge, I wouldn't jump with them, I'd be at the bottom to catch them.
Don't frown, because you never know who's falling in love with your smile!
If you judge people, you have no time to love them
Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the
right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will
know how to be grateful for that gift.
When the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times
we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which
has been opened for us.
The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and
swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it
was the best conversation you've ever had.
It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but
it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it
arrives.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to
make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to
make you happy.
Please tell those people who mean something to you,
to those who have touched your life in one way or another,
to those who make you smile when you really need it,
to those that make you see the brighter side of things when you
are really down, and to those who you want to let
them know that you appreciate their friendship.
Facts of life
At least 5 people in this world love you so much
they would die for
you.
At least 15 people in this world love
you, in some way.
The only reason anyone would ever hate you, is
because they want to be just like you.
A smile from you, can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't
like you.
Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
You mean the world to someone.
Without you, someone may not be living.
You are special and unique, in your own way.
Someone that you don't know even exists, loves you.
When you make the biggest
mistake ever, something good comes from it.
When you think the world has turned it's back on you, take a look,
you most likely turned your back on the world.
When you think you have no chance at getting what you want, you
probably won't get it, but if you believe in yourself, you
probably sooner or later will get it.
Always remember compliments you received, forget about the rude
remarks.
Always tell someone how you feel about them, you will feel much
better
when they know.
If you have a great friend, take the time to let
them know that they're great.
Rules for the new year
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.
No one can go back and make a brand new start.
Anyone can start from now and make a brand new
ending.
God didn't promise days without pain, laughter
without sorrow, sun without rain,
but He did promise strength for the day,
comfort for the tears, and
light for the way.
Disappointments are like road bumps, they slow you
down a bit but you
enjoy the smooth road afterwards.
Don't stay on the bumps too long. Move on!
When you feel down because you didn't get what you
want, just sit tight and be happy,
because God has thought of something
better to give you.
When something happens to you, good or bad, consider
what it means.
There's a purpose to life's savants, to teach you how
to laugh more or not to cry too hard.
You can't make someone love you. All you can do is
be someone who can be loved;
the rest is up to the person to realize
your worth.
It's better to lose your pride to the one you love,
than to lose the one you love because of pride.
We spend too much time looking for the right person
to love or finding fault with those we already love,
when instead we should be perfecting the
love we give.
Never abandon an old friend. You will never find one
who can take his place.
Friendship is like wine, it gets better as it
grows older.
There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you want to
pick them from your dreams and hug them.
May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you
strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.
Happiness lives for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched,
and those who tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people
who have touched their lives.
The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past, you can't go
on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
I believe-
that we don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
that no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
that true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.
that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
that it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.
that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.
that you can keep going long after you can't.
that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
that regardless of how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had
better be something else to take its place.
that heroes are the people who do what has to be done
when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.
that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,
but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.
that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't
mean they don't love you with all they have.
that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them
and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.
that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.
that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.
that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
that just because two people argue, it doesn't mean they don't love each other
And just because they don't argue, it doesn't mean they do.
that you shouldn't be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don't even know you.
that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
that the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.
Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you
If love isn't a game, why are there so many players?
Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.
You can only go as far as you push.
Actions speak louder than words.
The hardest thing to do is watch the one you love, love somebody else.
Don't let the past hold you back, you're missing the good stuff.
Life's short. If you don't look around once in a while you might miss
it.
A BEST FRIEND is like a four leaf clover, HARD TO FIND and LUCKY TO HAVE.
Some people make the world SPECIAL just by being in it.
BEST FRIENDS are the siblings God forgot to give us.
When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look
beside you and your BEST FRIEND will be there.
TRUE FRIENDSHIP "NEVER" ENDS.
Friends are FOREVER.
Good friends are like stars....You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Don't frown. You never know who is falling in love with your smile.
What do you do when the only person who can make you stop crying is the
person who made you cry?
Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.
Everything is okay in the end. If it's not okay, then it's not the end.
Most people walk in and out of you life, but only friends leave footprints in your heart.
MEMO FROM GOD:
To: YOU
Date: TODAY
From: THE BOSS
Subject: YOURSELF
Reference: LIFE
I am God. Today I will be handling all of your problems.
Please remember that I do not need your help.
If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you
cannot handle, do not attempt to resolve it. Kindly
put it in the SFGTD (something for God to do) box. It
will be addressed in My time, not yours. Once the
matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it.
If you find yourself stuck in traffic; Don't despair.
There are people in this world for whom driving is an
unheard of privilege.
Should you have a bad day at work; Think of the man
who has been out of work for years.
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think
of the person who has never known what it's like to
love and be loved in return.
Should you grieve the passing of another weekend;
Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve
hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children.
Should your car break down, leaving you miles away
From assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would
love the opportunity to take that walk.
Should you notice a new gray hair in the mirror; Think
of the cancer patient in chemo who wishes she had hair
to examine.
Should you find yourself at a loss and pondering what
is life all about, asking what is my purpose? Be
thankful. There are those who didn't live long enough
to get the opportunity.
Should you find yourself the victim of other people's
bitterness, ignorance, smallness or insecurities;
Remember, things could be worse. You could be
them!!!!
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.
"No", she replied. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"
The woman went out and invited the men in.
"We do not go into a House together," they replied
"Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," said the husband to his wife.
"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!"
MY WISH FOR YOU...
-Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy.
-Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through it.
-Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience, and renewed strength.
-Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage.
Pay attention to what you read. After you read this, you will know the reason why!
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you
figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON. It is usually to meet a need you
have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to
provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally,
or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend, and they are! They are
there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrong doing
on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something
to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they
walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we
must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their
work is done. The prayer you sent has been answered. And not it is time to
move on.
When people come into your life for a SEASON. Because your turn has come
to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace, or make
you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually
give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is for real! But,
only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons: things you must build
upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept
the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind,
but friendship is clairvoyant. Thank you for being a part of my life.
Work like you don't need the money, Love like you've never been hurt, and
Dance like no one is watching.
A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears.
A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names.
A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book.
A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and stays late to help you clean.
A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to call.
A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.
A simple friend wonders about your romantic history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it.
A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself.
A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you HAVE an argument.
A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight.
A simple friend expects you to always be there for them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!
A ball is a circle,
No beginning, no end.
It keeps us together, like our Circle of Friends.
But the treasure inside for you to see is the
treasure of friendship you've granted to me.
Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you.....
For All the World To See
I had a dream the other night An angel came to me in white. She took me by her gentle hand Saying, "I'll show you things that are so grand." She took me to the mountain tops. We flew above the seas. Then we viewed the forest, So beautiful and green. In this dream she walked with me As we entered a beautiful meadow. She said, "His love and inspiration are for all the world to see. Come and close your eyes, dear child, Come dream awhile with me. Lay your head upon my lap. It's softness is your pillow," As she sang me to sleep beneath the weeping willow. The butterflies danced in delicate flight. She showed me the beauty of all the flowers. She said, "They are for all the world to see. You can pick yourself a beautiful bouquet, If your heart, it does please. Her voice was like music, The sweetest my ears had ever heard. How she made my inspired heart to sigh, I listened to every word. We both looked up at the heavenly clouds Watching the gentle breeze push them by. I asked this beautiful angel, "Will I ever get my wings and fly?" The angel smiled at me and said, "Yes, my dear sweet child." As we watched the birds Fly near the rainbow up above, We both knew God had blessed us With all His care and love. As we viewed His artistry Of so many splendid colors I looked at her and said, "For all the world to see, It's not just in the meadow, But it's also in you and me. It's when our spiritual embracement Adds beauty to our life. When we truly believe in God, Our hearts will seek His light." I bowed my head and thanked Him For the love He has bestowed. His way will be for eternity, This my heart does truly know. Then I gently awoke, There was such sweetness in the air. I put my hands up to rub my eyes. I felt something in my hair. A single white blossom from a heavenly rose That an angel so graciously shared. Copyright Brenda K. Conley

PRAY FIRST
There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old shotgun and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out and kill something for dinner. As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit and he shot at the rabbit and missed it. Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. As he went further, he saw a wild turkey in the tree and he had only one bullet, but a voice came to him and said, "Pray first, aim high and stay focused." However, at the same time, he saw a deer, which was a better kill. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattle snake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattle snake. Still, the voice said again to him, "I said pray, aim high and stay focused." So, the man decided to listen to the voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree and shot the turkey. The bullet bounced off the turkey and killed the deer. The handle fell off the gun and hit the snake in the head and killed it. And, when the gun had gone off, it knocked him into a pond. When he stood to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a dead deer and a turkey to eat. The snake (Satan) was dead simply because the man listened to God. Moral of the story: Pray first before you do anything, aim and shoot high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Pass this on in order that someone else might be blessed. Never let others discourage you concerning your past. The past is exactly that - " the past." Live every day one day at a time and remember that only God knows our future and that He will not put you through any more than you can bear. Do not look to man for your blessings but look to the Lord. He can open doors for you that only He is able to do. Doors that you will not slip through but doors that only He has prepared in advance for you in your favor. Wait, be still and patient: keep God first and everything else will follow. Author Unknown*
Let's Wear Purple Hats!
In memory of Erma Bombeck who lost her fight with cancer. Here is an angel sent to watch over you. Pass this on to five women that you want watched over. If you don't know five women to pass this on to, one will do just fine.
IF I HAD MY LIFE TO LIVE OVER - by Erma Bombeck
(written after she found out she was dying from cancer.)
I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.
I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage.
I would have talked less and listened more.
I would have invited friends over to dinner even if the carpet was stained, or the sofa faded.
I would have eaten the popcorn in the 'good' living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace.
I would have taken the time to listen to my grandfather ramble about his youth.
I would have shared more of the responsibility carried by my husband.
I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed.
I would have sat on the lawn with my grass stains.
I would have cried and laughed less while watching television and more while watching life.
I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Instead of wishing away nine months of pregnancy, I'd have cherished every moment and realized that the wonderment growing inside me was the only chance in life to assist God in a miracle.
When my kids kissed me impetuously, I would never have said, "Later. Now go get washed up for dinner." There would have been more "I love you's." More "I'm sorry's."
But mostly, given another shot at life, I would seize every minute...look at it and really see it ... live it .and never give it back. Stop sweating the small stuff.
Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what.
Instead, let's cherish the relationships we have with those who do love us.
Let's think about what God HAS blessed us with. And what we are doing each day to promote ourselves mentally, physically, emotionally, as well shot at this and then it's gone. I hope you all have a blessed day.

I WISH YOU ENOUGH
At an airport I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together. They had announced her plane's departure and standing near the door She said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Daddy." They kissed good-bye and she left. He walked over toward the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?" "Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me. Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me. So I knew what this man was experiencing. "Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?" I asked. "I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is, her next trip back will be for my funeral, " he said. "When you were saying good-bye I heard you say, 'I wish you enough.' May I ask what that means?" He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more. "When we said 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with enough good things to sustain them," he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory: I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Good-bye." He then began to sob and walked away. My friends and loved ones, I WISH YOU ENOUGH!!! They say, "It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them."
A Good Story for Great Friends.....
There once was a little girl who had a bad temper. Her mother gave her a
bag of nails and told her that every time she lost her temper, she must
hammer a nail into the back of the fence.
The first day the girl had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next
few weeks, as she learned to control her anger, the number of nails hammered
daily gradually dwindled down. She discovered it was easier to hold her
temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the girl didn't lose her temper at all. She told
her mother about it and the mother suggested that the girl now pull out one
nail for each day that she was able to hold her temper. The day passed and
the young girl was finally able to tell her mother at all the nails were
gone. The mother took her daughter by the hand and led her to the fence.
She said, "You have done well, my daughter, but look at the holes in the
fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they
leave a scar just like this one." You can put a knife in a person and draw
it out. It won' t matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is
still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one.
Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you
to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always
want to open their hearts to us It's National Friendship week. Show your
friends how much you care.
Please forgive me if I have ever left a hole in your fence.
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson~
Righteous VS. Unrighteous
Planting If you plant honesty, You will reap trust If you plant goodness, You will reap friends If you plant humility, You will reap greatness If you plant perseverance, You will reap victory If you plant consideration, You will reap harmony If you plant hard work, You will reap success If you plant forgiveness, You will reap reconciliation If you plant openness, You will reap intimacy If you plant patience, You will reap improvements If you plant faith, You will reap miracles But If you plant dishonesty, You will reap distrust. If you plant selfishness, You will reap loneliness If you plant pride, You will reap destruction If you plant envy, You will reap trouble If you plant laziness, You will reap stagnation. If you plant bitterness, You will reap isolation If you plant greed, You will reap loss If you plant gossip, You will reap enemies If you plant worries, You will reap wrinkles If you plant sin, You will reap guilt So be careful what you plant now, It will determine what you will reap tomorrow, The seeds you now scatter, Will make life worse or better, for your life or the ones who will come after. Yes, someday, you will enjoy the fruits, Or you will pay for the choices you plant today. Author Unknown
"Lord, I ask you to bless my friends, relatives and email buddies reading this right now. Show them your love and power. Father, I ask you to minister to their spirit at this very moment. Where there is pain, give them your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through your grace. "Oh God, Your Sea Is So Great and My Boat Is So Small"
Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry, your body from abuse. Live simply; expect little; give much. Think of the other person; forget yourself. Always do as you would be done by.
Don't hurry, don't worry. You're only here for a short visit. So be sure and stop to smell the flowers. --- Walter Hagen
Be careful when you put off the enjoyment of life until the time is right. Before you know it, the right time can change into a lost opportunity.
THE ANT AND THE CONTACT LENS A true story by Josh and Karen Zarandona Brenda was a young woman who was invited to go rock climbing. Although she was very scared, she went with her group to a tremendous granite cliff. In spite of her fear, she put on the gear, took a hold on the rope, and started up the face of that rock. Well, she got to a ledge where she could take a breather. As she was hanging on there, the safety rope snapped against Brenda's eye and knocked out her contact lens. Well, here she is, on a rock ledge, with hundreds of feet below her and hundreds of feet above her. Of course, she looked and looked and looked, hoping it had landed on the ledge, but it just wasn't there. Here she was, far from home, her sight now blurry. She was desperate and began to get upset, so she prayed to the Lord to help her to find it. When she got to the top, a friend examined her eye and her clothing for the lens, but there was no contact lens to be found. She sat down, despondent, with the rest of the party, waiting for the rest of them to make it up the face of the cliff. She looked out across range after range of mountains, thinking of that verse that says, "The eyes of the Lord run to and for throughout the whole earth." She thought, "Lord, You can see all these mountains. You know every stone and leaf, and You know exactly where my contact lens is. Please help me." Finally, they walked down the trail to the bottom. At the bottom there was a new party of climbers just starting up the face of the cliff. One of them shouted out, "Hey, you guys! Anybody lose a contact lens?" Well, that would be startling enough, but you know why the climber saw it? An ant was moving slowly across the face of the rock, carrying it on it's back. Brenda told me that her father is a cartoonist. When she told him the incredible story of the ant, the prayer, and the contact lens, he drew a picture of an ant lugging that contact lens with the words, "Lord, I don't know why You want me to carry this thing. I can't eat it, and it's awfully heavy. But if this is what You want me to do, I'll! carry it for You." I think it would probably do some of us good to occasionally say, "God, I don't know why you want me to carry this load. I can see no good in it and it's awfully heavy. But, if you want me to carry it, I will." God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. Yes, I do love GOD. He is my source of existence and my savior. He keeps me functioning each and every day. Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him...I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)
Too slow for those who wait. Too swift for those who fear. Too long for those
who grieve.
Too short for those who rejoice. But for those who love, time is not.
